FOREIGN TRADE PROGRAMME

 

The Aim of the Programme

 

The aim of the programme is to train qualified personnel who will work on Foreign Trade.

 

The Opportunities offered by the Programme and the Education System

 

The students are aimed to be trained qualified enough to cope with the fierce competition environment, to be able to meet the requirements of industries’ export moves, who are equipped with the practical knowledge for foreign trade issues, have an overall knowledge on customs legislation and are solution-oriented foreign trade experts. The lessons which have been designed in parallel to the need analysis of sector are conducted in modern classes equipped with computer labs, there exists lessons which are enriched with current sectoral improvements and case studies in lesson programme and the classroom teaching is supported by an internship programme in which the students find the chance to practice what they have learned already. In educational term, the seminars given by the successful managers and experts of Foreign Trade sector, the travels and surveys done with the appropriate educational sensibility to successful firms which are members of the sector enable the students to improve and have insight for the sector.

 

What the Programme Equip Students with and the Programmes Students Could Do Vertical Transfer to

 

As individuals knowing customs legislation and foreign trade processes very well, the students who have graduated from the programme will be at a level which would support the trade they will do with the EU member countries and the other countries. The programme raises students who know import-export legislation, who can use this knowledge on computers, who have an overall knowledge on foreign trade finance, banking processes, customs procedure, customs unions and export marketing. The students who fulfill the requirements of two-years-programme have the chance to improve and further their vocational knowledge with doing vertical transfer to banking, banking and finance, banking and financing, labor economics and industrial relations, economy, economy and finance, management, business information management, management informatics, management-economy, logistics management, capital market, international finance, international management, international trade, international trade and finance programmes.

 

The Departments Grad Students Work for

 

The students who have graduated from the programme can work in departments of production and service firms such as foreign trade, logistics, buying, planning supply chain and production and marketing and in departments of buying and selling in retail processes while they can also work in trade firms which support the corporations from outside, can take a role as broker between the corporations, can work as consultants and can establish their own companies so that they can penetrate the market autonomously. They can take charge in every kind of firm which do human and product shipping with air, land, sea and railway logistics companies, airports and ports. They can also work in establishments which enable consultancy and education for foreign trade, in universities and in appropriate departments of research establishments, in Ministry of Transport and undersecretariat of foreign trade while they can also take charge as customs broker, expert staff in import and export offices. 

FOREING TRADE PROGRAMME
