LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PROGRAM
AIM OF THE PROGRAM
The main aim of the Local Government Program is to train candiates who are suitable for the principles, strategies and techniques of contemporary local government sciences and who are equipped with analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making methods. On the other hand, in order to solve the administrative problems of the region, some educatonal opportunities are provided to the young people of the region.
It is aimed to train the lower and middle-level managers (for provinces, municipalities) who are educated in politics, law, public administration and environmental issues. Besides this, it is aimed to to train people who who can work effectively in local administrations. On such a subject that we continuously discuss, we need a high quality education. For all these reasons, Local Governments Program has opened in our university.
THE FACILITIES AND THE EDUCATION SYSTEM OF THE PROGRAM
Local Governments Program has been opened with the aim of supporting the formation of emocratic, transparent, participatory public services by ensuring the effectiveness of the given education. The students take basic economics, law, accounting, business management, foreign language, computer courses as well as urbanization, political sciences and local governments courses during the education. Our students take the theoretical courses in computer labs or projection-equipped classes and they attend the practical courses by their internship in municipalities or special provincial administrations. During the education period, experts and executives of the area give speech to students and these trainings help their individual development.

Our program draws attention as a unit by training the public administors of the future and bringing the local governments to their deserved position. The people who got the title of "Local Government / Local Government clerk" can work as a closest aides of local government managers and take decisions. Person's career advancement is based on the success and experience. They can be lower or middle managers or chiefs of various departments of their institutions.

Our graduates can be transfer vertically to the 4 years programs by taking the vertical transfer exam implemented by ÖSYM.
